Home Health Systems, Inc. (“Home Health Systems,” “we,” or “us”) publishes the Home Care Infection Prevention and Control Program® and operates HomeCareandHospice.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and when we share it. Our products are sold to home health agencies, hospices, and other home care organizations, and this policy applies to the business information they and their staff provide to us.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you place an order, renew a license, register for a download or our e-newsletter, or contact us, information we may collect:
- your name, title, and organization;
- business address, email address, and phone number;
- order, license, site, and renewal records; and
- the content of your messages to us.
Payment information. Card payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. If you pay by phone, we enter your card information directly into the payment processor’s secure system to complete the payment. We do not keep full credit card numbers in our own records. If you pay by check, we keep a record of the payment.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your cart, and keep it secure. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google’s use of this information is governed by Google’s privacy policy, and you can opt out with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, but some site features, including checkout, may not work.
Health information. We do not ask for or want patient information. Please do not send us patient records or protected health information.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- process orders, licenses, and renewals;
- deliver the Program, updates, and new editions;
- answer questions and provide customer support;
- send information about updates, new editions, education, and related products;
- keep our website and records secure; and
- meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
When we share information
We do not sell your information to other companies for their own marketing. We share information only:
- With service providers who help us run our business, such as our payment processor, website host, and email provider. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- In a business transfer. If we are considering selling, merging, or transferring the Program or our business, we may share customer information with a prospective buyer and its advisers under a written confidentiality agreement, for use only in evaluating the transaction. If the transaction is completed, customer information will transfer to the new owner, which may use it for the purposes described in this policy.
- When required by law, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the link in the email or contacting us. We will still send messages about your orders, licenses, and renewals.
Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold. No website or system is completely secure. We keep information for as long as needed to provide our products, administer licenses, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
Your choices
You may ask us to update or correct your information, or to stop sending you marketing emails, by contacting us. If you live in a state that gives you additional privacy rights, contact us, and we will respond as that law requires.
Children
Our website and products are intended for healthcare organizations and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
